Lucy Alimena Trainor

Lucy J. Trainor, 98, went into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, May 12, 2018.

The Punxsutawney, PA native was a longtime resident of District Heights, MD. She moved to Savannah in 2009 and has most recently been affiliated with Free Point Church on Wilmington Island. Lucy was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Nicolena Alimena; her husband, Kenneth E. Trainor; a son, Billy Trainor; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Trainor.

Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Trainor “Peggy”; a son, John K. Trainor (Margaret); two grandsons, John Ortman (Sheila) and John Trainor (Coleen); granddaughters, Angie Biggus (Benji) and Gretchen Trainor; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with Rev. Brandon Burnham officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
